Practical Kit for daily driver

My mates after a practical kit car for use as a daily driver, he doesnt know what to get, so is up for suggestions. Heres what he wants:

Its got to have a permanent roof (its for use when its too horrible to ride his bike...)

It needs to look good

Reliable

Easy to maintain

Cost less than 6k for a finished road legal car, or £4k for something needing finishing off

If anyone has suggestions, or indeed a car for sale! Then let me know so i can pass them on to him.

Cheers,
David

Was gonna say GTM Libra but think its probably outside of his budget.....how about one of those Nova things that pop up on ebay from time to time.....not the best looker or particularly practical but dirt cheap last time I checked! Oli.

The Aeon GT might be a bit over budget depending on spec - worth a look though.

Decent Jago - budget a grand- all the goodies, decent paint job or decent gel coat finish, cd, General Grabbers, quality (heated? seats), door locks, as many Cibies and dashboard gauges, as he can fit on, decent 2 litr engine or even a V6 linked to 5 speed box- that still leaves enough for a world cruise.................... unless he wants whole fleet of 'em

NCF Diamond

That GTM is really nice and the price is good too. I must confess to having a liking for the Jago as an everyday runabout, want to get one for the missus.

I have a Jago that my son (at Uni and needs the cash) wants to sell.

Needs some work: (Bad bits)
chip in windscreen
crack in tubular exhaust, needs a blob of weld.
brakes want bleeding
There is some sun damage to the paintwork on the bonnet and wing tops.
Generally needs a good clean.

Good bits!!
Just done new propshaft, new front pads.
1600 X flow
Good condition floor (this is a bad area on Jago's as they rot out and its a big job to replace)
Good tyres all round
Soft top
Hard doors (not fitted)
good battery

U2U me if you want to talk about it.
Located Cambridge area.
