Thumb adjuster idle screws
Anyone know where I can get some thumb adjustable idle screws for my Honda Blackbird / keihin carbs. It would be easier than messing around with a
screwdriver* when adjusting the carbs.
*screws are underneath the carbs

Mmm just a thought, and maybe no use ,but if there was enough room perhaps you could fit a really tight and fat O ring to the screw head that would
give you enough grip/purchase to turn it with your thumbs (presuming that is the screw in the picture).
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

the picture is what I want. The current ones are a screw which is pretty much recessed in the carb body. Hence the need for a screwdriver to adjust
them.

if such things do exist for this model, then wil they be cheap?
ok, it is an inconveneince but how often do you have to adjust your idle? If a lot, then there is a problem that should be addressed.
what about using a stumpy screw driver?

Not often, but when I do it's a real pain to get to the screws, stumpy screwdriver or not, you then have to locate the screwdriver in the screw,
then you drop the screwdriver.....

Take a look on the racespec site, ive never seen one for a road bike but i fitted one on my enduro bike. Its a keihin carb too so i would think the
screw size is the same, give them a call and see what they say.....cost about a tenner

Oh, they are a bit hard to find on the site....look under "bodywork" then "pulse", the mixture screw is about half way down
the page.....see, us dirty bikers come in handy sometimes
And if you think adjusting the carbs on a bec is difficult, try a vfr400 when the engine is still in the bike....used to keep a small child in the
toolbox just for that job
Ohhhh motion pro also do a nice adjustment too with a 110 degree head, Allens performance in nottingham sells them, just up the road from you!

Couldn't you just braze an extension made from a bit of scrap brass onto the head of the original screw? Certainly cheaper.
If you make the top like a small wing nut then you still get perchase with oily/cold/wet fingers.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

I thought this myself but without the brazing bit. Thought I might be able to epoxy a piece of flat metal into the screwdriver slot. Not pretty but
would do the job.

Easy to say that but it needs a little adjustment now and again (like when I change between the foam filter and the airbox for track days). Fuel
Injection ? I will one day but for now I like the simplicity of the carbs.
