Alternator pulley / Scrappy in Norf London
Anyone know the cheapest place to get seriously scrapped alternators from?
I need a couple to whip the pulleys off them to put bearings in for idle / tension bearings on my BEC blower install....
Don't know of any local scrappers (would have thought land would be too bloody expensive to store dead motors on)... Quite a few old cars used
the 6-rib belt that I'm using (Astra's being one).... Can't imagine seriously rusted up Astra alternators being too unLocost, but
not sure where to start... Anyone know of anywhere in North London where cars go when they die to rust in piece?
Most of my build happened in Nottingham- there we had a mecca for rusty motors near the river- probably about 4 football fields of scrapped motors,
broken bits etc... Great fun....

Try a local scrap metal yard - note scrap metal not scrap cars - they'd probably let you rob a couple for beer tokens as they are only
interested in weight of metal, not what it is.
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Good point re scrap metal people... Car scrappers would probably want to sell the whole alternator.. I've mailed a few of the people
reconditioning alternators on Ebay- I bet they get a few coming through that are so knackered that they're effectively scrappers... A nice 80mm
alternator pulley should surfice for the crank pulley. I might even be able to keep the standard supercharger pulley as it is...
A40 wouldn't be a problem if I was able to make the meet tommorow but it appears my Ebay "next day delivery" battery didn't
include Saturdays so I'm stuck @ home.. Language could indeed be a problem- my Polish is a bit rusty- ? in need of a polish?

I'll have a look tonight in the garage, I did have a few 6 rib pulley'd power steering pumps laying around, that nobody would give me any
money for, sure I could spare some bits there!
