blackbird choke mechanism

Anyone got one? Im looking for all the bits/levers, clips, cable., my car wont start without a bit of choke, cable ties are not fun, especialy when you have to hold 4 of them.

Could you not just apply some loud pedal? Seems to work with mine, as even though I have the choke gear I rarely use it.

I tried that, and it didn't work, I managed to get all 4 chokes on and it fired straight away, I cant understand it, It was fine before I put a hair dryer on the side.

Best take it off and give it to me then, since I have a choke already in place!
Any idea how much a new one is? I wouldn't have thought they'd be that much for a few little levery thigns?

There are universal cables available for very little money VWP have some. You need a bracket or a hole in the dash and some way to operate the linkage at the carbs. Loop one big cable tie through your 4 and clamp it to the end of the pull cable

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I've just looked at diysi's engine picture and I need the silver bar that links all the chokes.

Would it help if I took a closer pic tomorrow? Or some measurements?

yes, can you have a look at how the linkage bar is connected to the choke shafts, it looks as if it should have c clips but I cant figure out how to do it yet, Im happy to work the choke from under the bonnet, at least then the oil and water will get checked

Will try and get a picture and pop it in my archive if it will help?

Mine defo needs choke till its warmed up fully before it behaves
