Type 9 speedo drive

Hi

Has anyone got a spare speedo drive for a type 9 gearbox? I bought a recon box from ebay and it didn't come with one.

Cheers

Rich

Ah now, you will find that there are I believe 3 different speedo output drives (blue, white and 1 other colour) and I think 2 different drive cogs on/in the tail shaft. You need to know what colour your old drive was.

I think I've got a blue one and a white one.

Thanks but I don't have an old one!
What is the difference between them?

Different no's of teeth to reflect the different rear axle ratio's.
Driven gears (pushes in and drives the speedo cable)
White has 24 teeth
Blue has 23 teeth.
Not sure what he no' of teeth are on the other choice.

I also don't know the number of teeth on the drive gear (fitted onto gearbox shaft,
and drives the driven gear) Not sure about the choice available for this but I know there are choices.

I got a recon ford gearbox once and never did get the speedo reading right because the next stage was to change the drive gear. Which is gearbox out & strip.

Sorry for the delay in responding.
You are welcome to the two gears I have if you want them. At least it will give you choices.

Clive.
