Quarter Scale Allchin Model Steam Engine
Well looking for one built by MOD Apprentices under the watchful eyes of my dad and his boss in the late 70's.
It was last known to be residing in North Wales at an MOD Engineering Training site, but thats now been shut down so lost track of it.
Realy want to get it back for his retirement in 2 years.

That looks good - and quarter-scale is a nice size. manageable but still powerful.
Best of luck with your search!

Yeah it is thanks.
As i was too young to remember it and it was near my house as it was trandfered and didnt see it, so only have these pictures to go by.
I wrote to the main MOD records site last year and didn't get a response.
Where would i search?? I tried most Model Traction Engine sites.

You could try getting in touch with the Model Engineer magazine, care of:
Nexus Subscription Services, Tower House, Sovereign Park, Lathkill Street, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 9EF, U.K.
tel: (+44) (0)1858 435344; Customer Care tel: (+44) (0)1858 435322
I've seen them put items in their editorial for situations like yours.
Best of luck!

Use the freedom of information act and request the information. You'll have to play a small charge and the MOD are probably mostly exempt - but
its not exactly a state secret so you might get somewhere.
