Thick-wall aluminium tube
Anyone know if/where I can get some thick-wall aluminium tube, 44mm o.d. x 3mm or 4mm wall thickness? I can only find very thin-walled stuff.
I am trying to check the availability of materials before I decide on the design of a bike carb manifold. If I can't get what I want then
I'll probably have to make it out of steel. Aluminium would be nice though...
cheers,
David

Good suggestion! I'll give them a call on Monday. It looks like they stock 1.75" x 10SWG ali tube, which would be ideal.
Are they approachable for smallish bits? I'll be after 2 metres max, plus a bit of sheet for the backing plate.

They do offcuts at dicounted prices.
May have just what you want.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

Adam, thanks for the offer but that'll be too big - I don't want to make too much work for myself!
The 1.75" tube I'm after should be a nice snug fit into the rubber coupling sleeves.
