Blacktop Zetec Sump
Hi
I have been trawling the archives and im a bit confused (too many threads called "zetec sump" )
Will the sump from a 1.8 phase 1 zetec silvertop from an escort fit onto a 2.0 blacktop from a focus?
If so, are any extra parts required (pickup pipe, windage tray, crank scraper)?
Thanks

Yes the silvertop sump will fit the blacktop, also needed is the oil pickup to match the sump and the silvertop sump gasket. I don't know
whether the windage tray from the silvertop will fit, or whether there is any experience out there of running without one.
Im just out from having surgery and will be undertaking a similar swap when I can get out into the workshop again....
Regards.
Pete.

I found this website http://www.westfieldbuild.net/sump.php
It looks like the windage tray will just bolt on, but it shows there may be a few other problems that need considering

Looks like 4 big end bolts from the phase 1/2 are also needed to bolt the tray on...

Yeah, the starter motor looks to be the biggest issue though.

Just needs the webs cutting off the sump and a flat plate welding in, I've already modded the phase 3 sump - see photo archive. But the mondeo
rear well sump will suite the MGB I'm putting it in better.
My starter is a QS1220 from QX Components.
