New fuel tank leak on weld

My alloy tiger fuel tank has developed a leak on the lower welded edge :-( Only just got it on the road and have done just 300 miles.

Looks like it is comming from an imperfection/pin hole on the weld.

I realise that the solution will be to take tank out and get it re welded by a specialist.

In the short term any other suggestions? Are there any tank sealant/putty that I can apply that will seal it for now? Any products recommended?

Im guessing this is all part of the post SVA part of the build...

Thanks
Adrian

yeah, get it swapped i think. if its a faulty weld i'd imagine they'd swap it. if its old and cracked then they probably won't...

i'm pretty sure theres some of that chemical metal stuff that shows a picture of it on an oil/petrol tank? i con't remember. have a look in halfords

Yea, I'll phone tiger tomorrow and see what they say. Its more the hassle if I have to take the tank out. Not convinced I can get it out with the body on...

Thanks

there is also the por-15 tank repair stuff that coats the inside of the tank (Although it needs the tank out unless you can pick the car up and shake the entire thing around )

Phoned tiger today and they said if I can get it to them they would re weld it.

I have patched it today with petrol tank leak sealant stuff from a motor factors. Made L shaped alloy and filled with the stuff and used big cable ties wrapped round tank to hold in place. Seems to have sorted it for now.

Hopefully fill stay fixed till later in the year and I can take tank out and send to tiger.

Thanks
Adrian
