Coolant Expansion Bottle/Vessel

Hello All,

I am becoming addicted at asking questions on this site as you all are the gurus of kitcar building!

I am fiting a zetec engine to my S3 Caterham and was wondering whether it would matter if I fitted any size engine coolant bottle or expansion vessel?

Do the bottles/vessels have to fit the exact engine and model?

Cheers

James

no, but it makes sense to get one that is for an engine that holds a similar amount of water rather than engines capacity as that determines how much it will expand. They vary a lot, my old nissan takes loads to fill up yet is just an 1.8, less in fact than my 2.5 volvo.

Rover 25 or 45 bottle is a popular choice
