Eurotech FR2000 reverser
Greeting All in the bonds of peace,
I'm attempting fix a Eurotech FR2000 reverse box in the States. I found out through previous posts on this site and my own testing that the
reverser box vibrates heavily as the RPMs rise on the prop shaft. So I opened the box to find that the bushing on the outshaft has a lot of
"play" and seem to be one of problems with the design of this 1st generate reverser box.
As I recall (correct if i'm wrong), Pete Osborne with Eurotech was the subject matter expert with the FR2000? Also, I have read that other BEC
enthusaists have done some welding to correct the virbration issue? I'm not ready to throw in the towel with the FR2000 yet unitl I explore
other reasonable solutions, God knows I can't afford to purchase Quaife reverse box at this time.
Does anyone have any insight or success stories for fixing the vibration issue with the EuroTech FR2000?
I will post some pictures of the bad bushing and the output shaft. the ouput shaft is harden steel, the bushing seem to be some sort of alloy steel -
definitely not harden.
