Carbon Fibre Zetec Rocker Cover

Guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a carbon fibre rocker cover to a 16V Zetec R engine?

And it so do you know of anyone that does do one?

Cheers

James

I've made a few different rocker covers in the course of my work.

When being offerred items, make sure you can verify the resin used, then check the Tg, or glass transition point, and make sure it is above 125C.

Someone was peddling rocker covers for crossflows on here a while ago, and proudly mentioned the resin. Went real quiet when I pointed out the resin was only good for 80C, as I recall.

I've seen a few carbon rocker covers, melted all over the rockers because of incorrect resins.

Cheers,
Syd.

Don't think it exists because it would be almost impossible to get it to seal properly and oil does get warm, not hot (normally) but it would be possible that the CF would distord because of this.

Maybe a CF cover over the rocker cover exists, or was that what you meant?

Something like this but then for a zetec:
