Second hand Protech shocks : advise for a price
sergebelg - 12/6/12 at 09:52 AM

Hi all,

I will soon sell a pair of Protech Shocks. These are the rear shocks that were fitted to my Westfield SEIW.

One is leaking and I was quoted 30 pounds by Protech for the repair. As I am living abroad, the costs for shipping will be expensive and it's easier and quicker for me to buy two new ones here in Belgium.

The other damper is perfectly good.

They are 14 inches long, single adjustable, rubber bushed (38mm), three years old, 15000 miles.

The coils are not included.

I have no clue about the price I could ask : any ideas ?

Thank you

You can get new Protech shocks for about £180 a pair. On that basis, I'd probably expect to pay about £100 - £120 for a pair of decent second hand ones. Given that one of yours requires repairing at £30, plus postage to Protech, I reckon you could probably get about £60 - £80 for them from someone prepared to take the risk that the repair cost won't exceed £30
