Bought an ali bell housing of the bay what I thought was cheap for £150 then guess what? £129 at RD
Took the old cast one off and offered the ali up and guess waht? Fouls the chassis.
Ground a lump off the side and tried to assembel the clutch arm nad guess what? It doesn't fit.
What a knacker, now I've butchered a perfetley good new bell housing and can't sell it on, so bought a Mk1 clutch arm off the bay and
I'm betting it doesnt fit either!
Steve
sorry but you deserve one of these:
buy lots of beer then get wasted and forget about it
I feel your pain, suppose you can only laugh about it or you'd cry.
I bought an alternator for a pinto before even fitting the engine and yep you guessed it it didn't fit
You certainly live and learn building cars for a hobby
Nigel
What the betting that there's a forum somewhere with a "I just sold a bell-housing for £20 more than I paid for it!" post.

Aren't RD prices are plus VAT so that'd be £150+delivery. So You've not paid too much over the odds for something you can't use!

You need the Escort RS2000 clutch release arm, i got mine from Dovercourt Ford spares counter in Chelmsford for £25.
The ally bell housing has a left or right starter motor fit option so you will need the ally sump to go with it or make up a metal plate to cover the
unused starter motor hole and drill a hole for the clutch cable.
The engine to bell housing dust cover plate is also wrong and you will need to relieve the holes around the used starter motor bolts
