Just a quick post to say how impressed I am with Lidl!
SWIMBO rang me on Friday afternoon explaining her car was broken. Turned out it was a flat battery, not helped by the -1 temperature.
So I took a trip down to the local Lidl on Saturday, and bought a Tronic battery charger and the spare wheel stand!
Got home, stuck the battery on charge on the middle setting, by the next morning, it was charged up. 44Ah battery charged from dead to full overnight
was pretty good.
So I thought I'd challenge it with something a bit bigger. So I took the 110Ah battery from the Landrover and put that on charge. Took slightly
longer this time on the top setting!
So tonight, I thought I'd try the lowest setting, bike batteries! Dug my 16Ah battery out of the boot of my car, where it had lain since it
refused to take / hold a charge at the last trackday. Checked the electrolyte levels, and they were all very low, so a quick top up, and stuck it on
charge. Tomorrow morning will tell whether it has taken a charge / recovered this battery.
Overall for £11.99 I'm pretty impressed! (My local store even had a few left).
Oh and the spare wheel tidy has sorted out the pile of spare wheels in the corner of the garage a treat.

Hmm... May have to get me one of those. The last time I used the one in the garage the battery p!$$ed all over the garage floor!
Yup, I've got a load of Lidl's stuff, including one of those chargers. A lot of their hardware seems to be German made, and of surprising quality for the price, not the usual 'made in China' tatt.
Sounds good... Just dont leave it unattended...
If the V-reg in the charger fails it could cause the battery to overheat and go bang lol!
They we half price in my local Lidl over the weekend. I've already got two though!
I did pick up a bench drill for £19.99 which I'm pretty pleased with.
As others have said Lidl tools are generally very good quality.
