Anyone know if the engine will fit in an Indy?
Cheers......... Neil
I dont think it's really of much use in a front engine/RWD set-up as it's one of the Honda engines that spins anti-clockwise.
You'd need an adaptor plate or bellhousing & if you turned the diff upside down it would work but I'm not sure how a gearbox would like
being spun the wrong way round.
More use as a front wheel drive or mid engined set-up using the gearbox that comes with it,
It's shame really as Honda have some cracking engines that would other wise be well suited to a lightweight car like a 7.
Thanks for that.
So do all FWD (local wheel drive if mid engined) jap engines spin the "wrong way". The reason I ask is I was considering an MR2 engine swap
with an adapter plate onto my Type 9 box.
Any / all information greatfully recieved.
Regards.............Neil
I'm not sure but I think it's just Hondas & mabye Mitsubushis & not all of them at that, the Honda K series (nowt to do with Rover)
which is in modern Hondas I think spins clockwise.
Toyotas spin clockwise as normal, the 1600 4age engine has ben fitted to quite a few kit cars so there should be plenty of info about fitting them up
with RWD, mabye les so about the later 2.0 engine but it'll have been done!
A load of this stuff ends tonight & I've got a couple more bits on now too, Recaro seats & some bike throttle bodies.
