hello all, well, im after a mondeo to get me, some friends and some bikes / golf clubs / big stuff around in,

so, i found this one on ebay, its really close to me,

linky

so emailed the chap selling, asking what sort of price he was after, bit of backwards and forwarding, and he has said he's after more than £500, could someone give me some advice as to if this is a fair price, obviosly i dont know his final price, but i would have thought its worth much over £500?

cheers, ant

I see it's cat D, who repaired it and what was the damage, £500 seems about right IMHO.

i wouldn't pay even £500 for it, but then i buy and sell, for £500 you could get a mk3 if you look hard enough, its a cat D so most people will be worried about that if you want to sell it on later.

its an early R reg as it has a sliver top engine, the later ones had black top, also, i'm sure its not got alloy wheels, i'm sure they are wheel trims and a ghia should have alloys

I took £750 for mine 4 years ago and it was a Turbo Diesel. He mentions CAT d does the car need to be checked for roadworthiness ??

My Mum had one that was bumped she had to take it to be checked over it only had damage to the door. Let him sweat and place a low bid on it.

Its got a years mot so I would give £500

Its low milage and looks clean and tidy. The only down side is the cat D.

£500 doesnt get much these days with 12mts mot. Labour cost mean beter than that get scraped or have gone for scrapage.

at that price Cat D is not that important imo as its only a cosmetic damage accident its been involved in.
just carry out the usual checks
car looks tidy and worth £500 i would say
if you can run it for a few years with no probs then it will be well worth the money
