Current bid: £4,600.00 should have gone to specsavers

carpmart - 10/2/10 at 08:44 AM

OK - what do people reckon it will sell for?

Richard Quinn - 10/2/10 at 08:48 AM

Slightly more expensive now!!
I know it's a cracking spec on the engine but I would like to know which RR has been used - 278 RWHP is a lot from a 2.0 litre when you consider that 888 etc are only managing about 20 more than that for BTCC cars with "significant budgets"!!

Hi

The BTCC engines are restricted.
Some of the folk in the up to 1.7L hillclimb & sprint class are getting around 240bhp.(at a significant £'s cost mind..)
Which oddly is what a full race 1.6, Formula Atlantic type engine was pushing out 20 odd years ago..
So a well built (read expensive..) 2L should be in that region.

dlatch - 10/2/10 at 09:58 AM

SBD have had the duratec upto that power for a while now and the 13k engine build price seems very accurate from what i have heard

would sell a bollock for that engine

:p

Not wanting to rock the boat but I don't really see its value. That engine will cost ££££'s to maintain, like all engines in that state of tune will loose quite a few BHP with a few miles on it.

Not very pretty either.

Don't buy it then!
