Self satisfied smug bugger!!
Mark Allanson - 27/4/04 at 08:45 PM

A local garage owner is retiring, and is helping out people who have helped him in the past.

Our workshop supervisor used to work for him and needed tyres for his Audi 80. He got 4 for £60!! I know the chap and tried to get some tyres myself, I asked for a set of 185 70 13's (Just oversise for my gearing and speedo accuracy, but a good tyre size).

'Sorry, my cocker, sold the last a week ago' '....' but I got these 60's if you want 'en' .....'£60 for 4?' I said nervously...'I got six left, want 6 do 'ee?'

The thought of a Locost tyrell past before my eyes, I quickly shook my head and said 4 would be enough, ' I'll give you 6 for £90!' I was tempted, but only need 4! ' Go on have the six for £60' he said, 'fed up with storing the buggers anyhow'

I am now the smug, self satisfied owner of 6 185 60 13 michelins, and only £60 poorer

I've got a set of pepper pots, wrong off set I'm told , thankfully i have a set of RS four spoke alloys just waiting to be cloathed in rubber , aren't 205's a bit wide for a locost? I was told the widest you should go was 195, by someone just like you

Nice bargain Mark. I got a bargain yesterday, a friend at work has been meaning to bring in a steering wheel for me for the last 6 months, I'd given up hope really. Anyway he brought it in and it turns out to be a £150 MOMO wheel ... for £5.

Thanks for the offer of the wheels, but I have a set of RS's in good nick.

Nice bargain on the momo!
