Very good price.

I think the first picture is at last years Laon weekend in France, where I saw the car. If it's the same one it's a very tidy car.

Since it's had an SVA in '98 it seems that either:
DVLA have cocked up the entry into the computer and it kept the donor registration and tax exempt status.

The current owner assumes it's tax exempt due to and age related registration. Seems unlikely as you'd have thought the DVLA/police would have 'realigned his expectations' by now.

Due to the date of my registration I have had to have an MOT from year one (See recent threads) DVLA say the age related plates indicate the year of the doner and therefore the my car, despite being built and registered in 2009. Therefore, I would suggest if the doner he used was old enough to qualify for no road tax that is why his car is excempt. After all DVLA cannot have it both ways either it's old enough to qualify for no tax or new enough not to have an MOT for the first three years. Barry

Possibly by using a pre 1973 V5 as the donor vehicle during the registration process. My former 1999 registered Tiger Super 6 was on a 1977 P plate when it was given the age related plate.

I built it up from a Zetec powered Cortina mk IV - honest guv!!!

Age related loses (or at least should) the tax exemption as that should go with the chassis first registered date rather than the reg. It was done like that to prevent people stripping off old plates and putting them on brand new cars as private plates with a nice little side effect.

SVA wasn't introduced in 1998. Cars built with more than a certain amount of parts from the donor kept their original donor reg and tax status. I built my car in 1995/6 and it has a 1983 plate - not tax exempt unfortunately though!
