My alternator packed up (lucas lra 000101) so i took it to THE go-to-guys for this type of thing (injectors, starters, alternators etc etc).

I was actually shocked at how cheap it was. Didnt know what to expect on price but was surprised when it was £38 for service exchange on a brand new one....

Is this about right or is it cheap as chips?

I thought the price was brilliant

It won't be a brand new one, it will be reconditioned which is why they need the exchange unit. Seems a fairly reasonable price though.
