Sorry guys, me again....
So am looking for a BEC or CEC and found this, little overpriced in my opinion but I could always sell the pinto/running gear if I wanted to get some
£ back and put something else in.
Now, why do the rear arches sit like that? It looks awful like it, is it just a case of take the rear arches off and fit them lower down?
The seller says thats how these cars are, and he spoke to the manufacturer and thats what they said.. I can't see it myself?
Thanks, Yodi

Tha must be why theyre really called rear wings. I cant recall seing any Robin Hoods with wings that high
OMG, my eyes!!
I think you may need to replan your ambitions to have a BEC, as i would very surprised if a robin hood would drive at all, let alone slowly with a BEC
in it
Any of the BEC's i have seen or been around, have been lightweight builds, and i would of thought all of them around the 500kgs mark
A robin hood on its own with nothing in it, is heavy
rear end looks like a 4x4 !!

I know the car is great but with the rear its not so much that the whole back is high is just the rear wheel arches. I spoke to RBS the
supplier of the kit and they said that this was normal. Mick - mpgracing
The arches are mounted way too high and looking at the huge difference in ground clearance
front to rear the springs are far too long.
The early Robin Hood 2b's Used a modified spring seat to take standard rear Sierra springs that slid into the rear roll bar, a lot of builders at
the time did not dummy fit then cut the tubes to the correct height and or fit shorter stronger springs.
A well known mod performed for many years by the robin hood owners club.
Later versions used coil overs and did not have the problem.
Yes the 2b is heavy not massively and with a bigger torquier bike engine will loose 100 to 150kg and perform well.
The bonus of a 2b is that the whole chassis is made out of roll cage tube, yes it heavy but still half the weight of most tin tops and very safe in a
shunt.
Just had a good look at the photos, it's also a sliding pillar version, there is a wishbone conversion kit for the front that's about £300
and you will want that, the sliding pillock is rubbish, by the looks of the price it's a dealer and he would of paid half the asking for an early
2b with sliding pillar, keep looking, do your homework, understand what you are buying.
Look at the Robin Hood Owners club. RHOCaR,
How much do the current crop of exoskeleton cars from the likes of MEV weigh?

for a fiver more than that you could buy my indy which has correctly fitted wings and doesn't sit 6ft off the ground!

Thanks for the link I'm using my phone and too much hassle to start searching users etc
The hunt is still on
Hmm.. looks like its not IVA'd, and therefore not registered.
Check with the owner to see if its IVA'd and registered.
Bear in mind this car will be a SVA (pre IVA) designed car, and you may have to undo work already done to get it thru the IVA, as its now slightly
different. Shouldnt be a major problem, just that its work and money you may not have budgeted for.
I would carefully check this out first!
If its IVA'd and registered, then 4k would be a reasonable price.
As for those arches, it looks more like the rear suspension is set too high, or has too strong a springs etc.
Nowt wrong with a Pinto. Not the most powerful, engine, but would give you a good fun car to drive.
Could be a good vehicle at the right price.
Bike Engine in a Robin Hood? Wouldnt be my choice fo chassis for a BEC.
Yep cars not for me, at least I learnt something
Thoughts on this 160652900098 or 160652904866 please?

Yodi, I am at work so can't see everything but if you are talking about the 2 cars in Pontefract...read
this 1st!
Do not touch them with a barge pole!!
The yellow was a Cat B write off and the reg has been used else where and the red 'Dutton' is clearly a ringer
Oh how I love the power of the web!!
Many thanks, really liked that aswell
