escort rs alloys

are all these 4-spoke ford alloys the same? there seems to be a huge difference in price between sets - is it purely down to the condition of the rims and the quality of the tyres?

for example 70-odd quid compared to
a tenner

and there are some single wheels for just a few pounds each on ebay.

ps if this latter set is any good i saw 'em first!

Condition is one factor, the fact you have a set is another and postage or pick up only.
Dont forget you have to get the special nuts to use these. Ordinary ones pull through!

ooh, didn't know that - the holes are bigger or something? what wheel nuts are needed - what are they called? i do like the look of these cars on 13" rs alloys.

The first set has a high start price and puts people off, the second set has a low start and still has 5 days to go so will probably make more money over the bidding period. Local pick up puts people off as well. There are different types of RS wheels for rear and front wheel drive but the Capri ones are rear offset. There are some available in up to 8" width which fetch a lot of money.

Get your wheel nuts from here

http://www.raldes.co.uk/; section Wheel Hardware

tell them what wheels you are using & what they are being fitted to.

Original Mk2 Escort RS2000 4 spoke alloys are fairly rare and are quite expensive. The Capri Laser 4 spoke alloys look almost identical but are of heavier construction and are a lot cheaper to pick up.

& these are £100 reserve not met! so within that style of 4 spoke ford alloys you can get them at different widths, offsets and weight? no-one really seems to specify what their wheels are...
