Its crazy how much these small "hobby" machines sell for...
I picked up a single phase Colchester Student for just under £600.. Ok, so it takes up space but I can machine proper sized stuff on it... Although it
wasnt big enough the other day for the piece of metal I was trying to spin up in it
There are some amazing bargains to be had if you look about for lathes etc.
£200 got me a 3.75 x 14 Willimott/Ideal Machine tool lathe...
Milling attachment, cutters, 2x chucks, quality micrometer.
Not as big as a Colchester or Myford but Im in a single garage, so space is tight. But ideal for small machine jobs.
Needed a damn good clean up & oil - didnt need it ! I wanted it......
Picking this one up on Wednesday, its a grayson and will need work but we dont need anything large and the amount of tooling etc swung it for me.
