Why not the bigger engines Dan?
I fancy one of these but dont know if they are all uniform or had different ratios etc so am reluctant to purchase knowing i;m pushing 260hp through one

Just remember that top is 1 to 1 so same as a ford 4 speed.

I think they were originally designed for the 1400 rob as the lack of power struggled with the ford variants! No idea what it would be like in yours but if I was going to spend that kind of money I'd go sequential with elite or similar and speak to David loomes at xoomspeed. He's had a mighty Westy with 20xe then a duratec

I looked at Elite but heard they are a pain on the road (not that i go there much) so backed out.
I'll have a look at xoomspeed, thanks

As others have indicated, unless you have a really peaky engine/cam combination I can't see how the gearing with a 6 speed caterham box is any better than a well sorted 5 speed type 9....in fact for most cases it could well be worse
