It does look like a squashed Chimera
The standard of workmanship looks great. As is the spec... but that body kit is unforgivable.
Someone should have stepped in and told him, maybe a family member.
Similar to an Xfactor singer who gently needs telling- 'we love you, but this isn't going to work'
It's not my cup of tea, but each to their own I guess!
Does look a pig that body tbh,whoever designed that at Formula27 needs to get a grip!

I don't like the front end, but then if I was thinking of buying it, (which I wouldn't - the engines at the wrong end!) a front end
re-design & a bit of fibreglass isn't exactly going to cost a fortune is it? I think the back end is actually rather good & a LOT
prettier than the back of a 7, which basically amounts to, "ok, we've got the engine, gearbox , passengers & fuel tank in, how should we
finish it?" - "Ah, just slap a sheet of ali on the back & bend it round the corners! Jobs a good 'un!"
It's not a bodykit, it was Formula 27's design, I guess an attempt to do something like a more modern version of a Fury or similar, Raw did
something vaguely similar IIRC, which as I recall, most people didn't like either!
The Lotus 7 wasn't really designed in terms of bodyshape (hence why it has the aerodynamics of a flying brick), it came about as the 6 & then
had a bit of a remake for the 7, I don't think any artists were involved, it was more about what could be done simply & cheaply - it
doesn't exactly have a lot of complex curves! People have got used to the shape & presumably like it as it became famous as the Lotus 7 in
stuff like the prisoner & we all grew up with that shape being around, & I do mean all of us, as it's not really changed that much in
around 60 years
When Tonique did their re-design of the 7 not many people liked that either, I guess if you don't want change you're not going to want
anything new or different looking ...............
Not trying to start an argument, I just think it's a shame we can't just accept something that's a little different - after all,
it's not an Onyx Bobcat is it? Now THAT does deserve "sweet baby Jesus" comments!
All that said, I'd be prepared to bet it doesn't make its reserve in a hurry 
I agree - it's not to my taste, but it does look tidy and properly designed. I suspect that it probably looks a whole heap better in real life
too. Good luck to them for trying something different.
The same goes for a few production cars going around (e.g. Nissan Cube) - not something I'd go for, but at least it's different from all the
other tin boxes around. Also the Plymouth Prowler, which is really not to my taste, but at least it's not run-of-the-mill (by a long way!).
The Tonique was a shame in many ways - it was *nearly* an excellent design, but something about it didn't look right. I really liked about 90%
of the shape, but something didn't run true - and I can't tell you what the 10% was that I didn't like.

Well I'm with Russbost on this one, and that's from someone who did wrap a sheet of ally round a frame.
Just because somethings different doesn't make it wrong. Everyone hated the Sierra at first, and that sold in tens of thousands.

It's a pig,end of imo!
It's the only one I've ever seen,so that tells you how well they sold and what 90% of people think of it,you will always get the
argumentative people who will point out 'it would be boring if we all liked the same thing'
look at the pic of it in front of the castle, just wrong. 
Ditch the lights, smooth off the front end, and have a great track day car.
I'd keep it like it is apart from fitting pop up headlamps and changing those 'orrible wheels. Maybe a more effective screen too.
Iirc Stuart Mills (MEV) took one of these and stuck a Chevy ls v8 in it and tidied up the styling.
