He says we all know the price crossflows go for. I have sent him an email asking if he would consider changing the price to a more sensible level as
the last complete, fully rebuilt engine went for £52. Do you think it will need a rebore as it had rust in one bore that he has 'cleaned up'

I was expecting something exorbitant.
if a complete fully built engine cost 52 quid, surely that was a screaming bargain! A set of pistons must cos way more than a 100 quid alone.
as someone thats never bought , or likely to buy, a 1600 crossflow, 100 quid doesnt seem too high.
just buy some bits for it like camshaft, crank, shells, whatever, and 100 quid for the engine would seem cheap

People want the biger motors so thats a bargain starting point...Will still bolt up to your box.............give me the zetec every day
