I guess that's it then, now more RGB fun

Shame really, although the show was monkey tennis it did give people an idea that kitcar building is not just a airfix kit. Which I thought was a good thing personally.

if anyone's a member on that forum, can you try to get a list of all parts&prices for the stuff that's available ?

I watched the show every week, hoping that things would get better.

Unfortunately the tone to the whole thing was set by the manic depressive that narrated.

Also Reynard himself didn't help.

He is listing engine, brakes and wheels with no prices. Also says many other parts available. I might put in an offer for the shed

I think the program showed how difficult it can be to do something different to the rest. I think for his first project and considering his mechanical experience he should have brought a tried and tested race package like a Fury or Pheonix. His time scale for what he tried to do was unrealistic and the kits he wanted to use were always going to make it a long term project. Also, the chassis not being strong enough to support the diff wasn't noticed by any of the experts. The worst thing for me was the front suspension bracket braking off as soon as that bloke stood on the front!

for your info he wants £4.5k for the engine, thinks it stands him around £8k, the brakes are up for £2k.

Why would you want to sell it all and loose that much money - better to strip it down, buy the correct chassis and try again - surely???

And get your mates to build it and hire another crane.....

Why didn't they make a series with someone who had an idea of what they were doing?

Triton - 27/9/05 at 12:21 PM

Not sure i would have wanted to get involved with being on the telebox just in case something went wrong....as is bound to happen knowing you are being watched by a few people.

paulf - 27/9/05 at 05:33 PM

I think thing was staged for tv apart from the car failure etc he must have made a large amount of money from the program and most likely got the parts at cost if not free for the advertising. The series was a dissapointment and i did expect a second follow up series but he obviously didnt have any real intention of racing.
