i don't get it (ebay)
Guinness - 10/7/06 at 03:19 PM

found this advert on ebay, don't really get it to be honest. i mean there is being truthfull about the state of your car and then there is being ridiculous!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1977-ASTON-MARTIN-V8-AUTO-RED_W0QQitemZ280004346303QQihZ018QQcategoryZ122142QQssPageNameZWD4VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

what i don't understand is that it will be offered for sale with a current MOT? with all those faults JoelP should find out who does their MOT's!

Do you think it'll sell?

Mike

Not so sure, one in a reasonable condition goes for about £30,000 so this could well work out as a bargain for someone with the time and the skill to do it justice......

i thought after 'engine' that was it!! at least he's honest i suppose. if he wasnt so honest i'd guess he worked or owned a mot place- one sold a mate of mine the dodgiest of cars- after about a week the handbrake completely failed- he had to keep it in gear to stop it rolling down hills!

I don't get it either:

"This particular car has been very well cared for and maintained for the majority of its life by Aston Martin specialists"

Pat...

Love it!

The right rear tyre pressure is low at 10psi
and it has "non matching wheelnuts
My god! the Wiper blades are split

Oh and by the way the bottom has rotted out and all mechanical components are shot! Otherwise a very sound car.

It doesn't mention that the MOT expires on the 30th of july though!

I like the way the report claims to include a road test! they must be mad to even get in it! Don't get me wrong, i'd love to own an Aston, but to claim it has an MOT is pure rubbish!

Looks like it has run on a shoe string for a few years.

A few K of bills for the new owner, never going to be a concours car without spending 70K on it but what would you expect for 8k starting.

Looks like a direct cut and paste from an RAC inspection - I used to do them!!

ned - 11/7/06 at 09:26 PM

Yeah but i still want it and it must be within 5 minutes of where i work

hmm but where would i store it

Guinness - 12/7/06 at 03:37 PM

You could keep it at mine! But don't blame me if it falls apart.

How much would it be worth in bits. Got to be a market on ebay for all those rusty bits?

Cheers

Mike
