I disagree, it's great stuff when used as intended, i.e. painting rusty wrought iron gates or iron guttering/downpipes. However, it's not so good on car chassis as it gets very brittle and chips easily when fully cured (which takes weeks!).

Oh no it isn't!

I painted my iron gates with it when I moved in 10 years ago, and they are just starting to look a bit tatty again. Can't really complain at that.

I only posted 'cos I thought it was cheap and might be helpful, we have used it on 6 substantial ladderframe chassis (which maybe don't flex as much as yours) and axles etc as well as railings, gates, garden benches etc with no complaints so far

I have recently started using some Ronseal stuff on metal which doesn't seem to dry out in the tin so fast and also lacks that heavy vapour smell, time will tell if it sticks as well.
