Definitely.

Chaps - come on. This is locostbuilders, where people are civil.

Unashamed owner of an(other) ugly car.

Agree with John...

Come off it guys, let's not slag someone's hard work. That's Blatchat territory:

Especially when they're probably a member/lurker here.

Cheers,
James

I wasn't trying to slag some ones hard work........Ok ,I WAS.
But seriously if the owner/builder is on the forum & makes himself known, I'll offer a full apology.
But come on.. He lists one of its good points as, & I quote " looks good"

On a more serious note, the dash looks really quite good, TBH the build quality looks ok too. IMHO it it spoilt by terrible body proportions.

AND as has already been pointed out, its on the road well before I will be

steve m - 2/11/06 at 09:57 PM

quote from advert

"This kit car has been based on the Ron Chapman lo-cost design"

this explains a lot of un answered questions for me, as I obviously built my car from the wrong book !!

Having checked my car and book, mine is built from a Ron champion book

bugger

I will have to build another one

nop reason why people should not express their opinion

I agree with the other, it is not the prettiest but there have and will beworse looking ones, and again, the owner has achieved somethign that a lot of us haven't, that is to get something on the road, is his case rather unique.

An encounter with Mr grinder and Mrs Welder shold sort it out - think the nose could do with being lengthened.

JamJah - 3/11/06 at 11:27 AM

02GF74, surely your mr and mrs thing should be the other way round....

Mr Welder produces something constructive, strong and reliable.
Mrs Grinder wont stop until broken, particulary with us guys, can be extremely dangerous, costs a lot of money if you want one that you can enjoy more than twice and whats more sparks always fly!

Point proved?

Peteff - 3/11/06 at 05:49 PM

I'm sure it's been on ebay before. I'd have preferred the Spitfire.

gazza285 - 3/11/06 at 06:39 PM

"I'd have preferred the Spitfire."

Even if it was rusty?

I love the Spitfire shape and more so the GT6, but they handled like crap due to the swing axle rear, and the rust..........

gazza285 - 3/11/06 at 06:40 PM

"There's always one who wants to p!ss on your chips isn't there?"

Yes, there is and it's usually me.

Peteff - 3/11/06 at 06:51 PM

So he's still got the crap handling and the rusty chassis.

steve m - 4/11/06 at 06:38 PM

can you weld rust ?

I used to be able to weld rust to thin air on Hark, my old Triumph Herald.
