Hi All,
I am looking at buying a set of wishbones, as I'm new to welding and don't fancy making them myself. Im looking at 2 different sets on ebay,
these
which include the joints, and
these from OBP. Also seen some trailing arms by them on there, is anyone on here able to vouch for their quality?
read a thread on them a while back but no definitive views. If they are any good I would get all the wishbones and trailing arms from them
Thanks in advance
Matt
The Obp stuff is made by Grant of the old Luege.
Never had a problem with his welding
I have one of his pedal sets
the first link is technically a better design, though how different they perform depends on the materials used. I personally do not like the look of wishbones with the shock plate cut square.
Well i for one would opt for the first ones, two reasons. One they look a better/stiffer design and two, i would not like to line the other sellers pockets if it is indeed Grant from the old Luego, as he owes me and many other people money! These could indeed be some of the "missing" stock too. rant over, sorry!!
Neither --- The book design is not good having major errors, in particular the second type has very bad stress raising features shows a real lack of
understanding of the effects of sudden changes in section on local stress levels --- the kind of stuff any 2nd year mechanical or structural
engineer degree student should know.
It has all been discussed in great detail in the past
