Aldi are doing a pair of trestles for £12 in this weeks deals. I thought some of you on here might be interested in them!

i would be shocked if those really take 340 kgs, i borrowed a pair of those off a mate to cut worktops on and they are dreadfully shoddy. Definately worth spending more on metal ones if you intend to build a car on it!

Bugger! Oh well, I thought it might be worth a heads up.

Milk crates will take more weight than that and better still, can be obtained FOC from your local milkman.

I got the metal adjustable ones from aldi and they do the job. They are a good height for working on chassis. The problem with aldi is you have to wait for them coming back in again.

I used a set of similar plastic items no problems - I did drop the chassis on it's wheels as soon as possible though, and the plastic made getting the car down a bit of a dodgy task (thankfully, it was one of the very few occassions my dad came to visit and turned up just as I was about to try to lower the car on my own!)

I used a set of those to build up my car on. They do take the weight of a chassis, dif, vauxhall engine and type9 gearbox.

I'm sure I must have climbed on and made brum brum noises at some point so that's got to be best part of 300kg. They do flex and wobble a bit though

ps one careful owner, £5 the pair
