Will that bolt on to a type 9 gearbox ok?

ooooh! I can't believe that Aston Martin just replaced his flood locked engine without stripping it down to inspect it first.
I dread to think what a rebuild would cost, but it must be less than a replacement engine.

Don't forget its simply two Ford V6 Duratec engines engineered together. Things like rods and pistons may be common.

I don't think AM would have had a say in what happens to it - it would have had nothing to do with them and everything to do with an insurance company.

From my experience, a new unit would be a cheaper purchase for an insurer than having an old (!) one overhauled.

Confused but excited. - 10/12/07 at 01:27 PM

As I was told it. A V6 Duratec is actually an Aston engine cut in half.

Discuss.............

Oh, and would you need a +4 chassis to get this lump in?

So does that make my engine an Aston or a Martin??

There was a fully working one on fleabay last year with a Buy it now of £1800, makes that one a bit steep.

Al.
