maplin angle grinders
indykid - 16/1/08 at 02:40 PM

just been looking for angle drive components on the maplin website for our uni project and it threw up 600w 115mm angle grinders for £7.99 a piece.

don't know if that's with vat, or if they're available at trade counters, but at that price, i'd reckon it's worth finding out.

diamond disc sets for £4.99 too. 2x wire brush wheels and 2x diamond discs

The cheaper maplin angle ginders fall apart -- the gear box screws vibrate loose -- nothing a bit of Locite won't fix if caught in time before the gears strip.

The discs are cheap and nasty --- it always pays to buy quality discs the cheaper one don't last, don't cut or grind well and have a nasty burning smell in use.

I can sell you a 115mm angle grinder for a mere £125 +vat and diamond discs to got with it for £62.51 + vat. Mind you you could cut ya car in half one handed with this bad boy

P.S They are Hilti so damn good stuff

they're diamond discs so i hope you won't be cutting steel with them! never had a problem with cheap diamond discs though i've never used an expensive one.

i agree about metal cutting discs though

Once used a cheap diamond masonry disc to cut an RSJ in half with no problems
