Cheap Hammerite paint
Bigheppy - 25/6/08 at 11:12 AM

Just thought I'd let you know that I have recently found hammerite paint at a couple of car boot sales. I got 1ltr of silver for £5 from whitley bridge car boot its right next to J34 on the M62. The guy had some other colours its a bit confusing as the tins are for the foreign market but mine turned out to be smooth and matched the sample on the top of the tin. I then found some at Old cotes car boot near Blyth just off the A1 near Bawtry. This seller only had blue smooth and light green hammered finish [again I could not read the tin] but was selling 1ltr tins for £4 an absolute bargin I bought two blue. He also said that he buys a pallet at a time with mixed colours, the tins are nice and shiny so I dont think they are old stock. So guys if you want cheap hammerite it might be worth checking out your car boot sales, no guarantees these sites will have any more but it might be worth checking.

I have used some already and it seems ok

Made in China...from fried dogs, the silver colour comes from ground up Chernobyl reactor core, turn the lights out, it glows!

Hammerite - good god NO! It is thicker than normal paint, so it weighs too much for BEC boys!!!

most of the bec boys i've seen weigh a good 3 or 4 stone more than me! i don't think 20 extra microns of paint makes any difference.
