how do they connect up? are they piggy backed into the existing lambda sensor?

they connect straight to your lambda sensor... i really wouldnt bother though if your going to use a standard Lambda and that gauge, as they are only narrow band, and the gauge will just flash side to side like the front light on KITT.

you are better off getting a Wideband lambda probe, and matching gauge if you want accurate results

i use this one and it works better than anyone i have ever seen

I've got one of these, mines hooked up to a spare analogue o/p of the LC1 wideband. Seems accurate enough, compares well with the ms reading.

Shop around for it though, didn't pay anything like that price for it - although IIRC I used one of the Hong Kong suppliers, was a while ago now.

doesn't work at all for me. the needle on mine seems to bend. as the tank gets empty, my wallet stays empty too

If you are just wanting to have a play with a lambda sensor and gauge i have a narrow band sensor and home made LED light style gauge that you could have for £20.

As said above narrow band is a bit twitchy, some people report they manage with them for a basic set up. Wideband is better but a lot more expensive.

U2U me if you want pics of mine. I may miss reply on this thread.

Halfords sell the same unit for £24.99. Bought one the other week and it works ok. As mention above it does tend to jump around as you change the throttle position but on a long hill or flat at constant throttle position it will give you an indication of the air/fuel ratio.
