900w Angle-grinders, tenner at Netto

I reckon you can't have enough angry-grinders, stick a cutting disk on one a grinding disk on another etc. and you never have to mess about changing from one type of disk to another.

Netto have 900w angle grinders on offer today, £15, but there's a third off until Sunday so they're only £9.98.

I wouldn't trust something a 10 year old put together in a sweat shop for 10 quid to keep a disc spinning at 10000RPM a foot from my face...

I'm with andyharding on this one having seen what it has done to my finger. Still not got full movement out of it and unlikely to now.

My Maikita died and only had a few light grinds left to do, so bought one of B&Q's tenner one's... lasted 2 days before the blade lock button died!

Took it back (had a years warranty)... got another - went up in a puff of smoke (and internal sparks) after a half hour session!

AND... you don't get a third - which I found rather strange as the product has a one year warranty. Single replacement only!

Moral of the story - if you want one that's going to last, then spend a bit and get a pro-tool. If you want one for light-use... spend another £20 quid or so (on top of the tenner item) and buy a boggo Bosch or something similar!

On the other hand I bought a £6.99 grinder from Aldi 4 years ago, it had a wire cup brush included and is still going strong. It also included a spare set of brushes which I haven't needed yet.

All my grinders (4 or 5) are Netto/Aldi specials. All have outlasted my Black and Decker and they're all decent quality.
The oldest was bought at the beginning of the car build (7 years or more) and is still going strong.

At least have a look at one or use one before passing judgement

Personally I'd avoid Bosch like the plague - all the kit I've had has been rubbish quality.

The power tools Lidl sell are miles better than normal Bosch stuff.

I buy Hitachi stuff if I want it to last.

mine was a £15 halfrauds special, lasted a year till the stop button stoped working, so to change the disk now i slide a 17mm spanner down the side of the disc. still works a treat.

I,m with the bosch is pants vote, I paid more for one of these, the only advantage is thye will supply new gearboxes.

My cheap £10 ones have easily out lasted any expensive ones I had in the past.

Now buying cheap discs is a different matter.
