Any idea on rough cost's to do a full respray on a 7 style car?

well you get what you pay for approx £700 to £850 for a very small body shop all down to time and prep a good man to call is terry at autofit does nice jobs at a fair price tel 01246 211626 chesterfield hope this helps paul

I think £850+vat would be a minimum, start adding for wobbly panels or gelcoat imperfections, metallic or special effects. thats for 4 arches, nose, bonnet, scuttle and a rearend assy.

Just the costs of the materials could vary from £100 for the most basic budget stuff to over £500 for the best quality.

Some special efects colours are over £1000 a litre - can make your hand tremble a little first squeeze of the gun!

been quoted around £400 for normal bodywork painting, that was if i removed it and just took it in,

£150 a panel is ball-park.

I reckon that circa £900 is about right, when I resprayed my golf I spent nearly £300 in paint alone, add on primers, thinners, sanding paper and a LOT of man hours and £900 starts to look pretty cheap!

i did this for my mate. only cost about £15 in paint



ok, definitely not a pro job, didn't even use a primer, just sanded down the original paint, and sprayed over it. he wasn't bothered about the finish right enough, he just wanted it the same colour as the rest of the car as cheap as possible. better than the manky black one he had on it, which was painted in some kind of tyre paint and it didn't peel off or anything lol

you could try a body wrap in Vinyl. Thats what I am thinking of doing. You can even get flip paint style vinyl these days.

I read that a full pro-job wrap on a Nissan GTR cost £1800... so I can't see a massive saving.

well the paint to do mine cost £80 that was for 2 litres of paint, thinners, hardener, etch and p60 etc from a local paint shop, and too me and my mate a day to strip it repair it and he painted it, all in 1 long day, so i would say £900 was a lot tbh i would only be wanting to pay £500-£600 depending on what colour etc, they are a doddle to strip and hardley any area to paint really
