Starting to convert to bike bodies
wonderfulweasel - 26/4/10 at 08:02 PM

I've been considering going for throttle bodies for a while and have gathered a few of the parts over the past few months. This weekend I actually got round to making a bit more progress on it!

Removed the secondary spindle and plugged the holes. I've now fitted the GSXR bodies to the manifold. Fastdan off here made the manifold up (I didn't fancy respacing them) and I'm very pleased with it. It's going onto the Xflow in my Escort (eventually!).

Next bits I need to do are:
- sort out a throttle cable. What have others with GSXR bodies used?
- sort out a coolant temperature sender. Think I might adapt a Fiesta thermostat housing, but would welcome other suggestions.

Anyway, I was pleased with myself so just wanted to share!

I used a Venhill universal throttle cable on mine with good results

Can i ask where you got the blue pipes from to connect to the inlet manifold ?

Thats all i need to carry on building mine up for now, until i can afford to sort a longer fuel rail out

Fastdan is his username on here. He supplied me the fitting kit of the fluro lined silicon hose and the 8 hose clips.

I don't remember how much he charged for the fitting kit, but I think it was quite reasonable.

I am actually just doing this at the moment

I have used a universal pushbike cable that comes with a 7mm barrell end (2 for about £5, includes inner and outer) for the throttle cable
I then just drilled the tbs out from 6mm to 7mm, now fits perfectly

I also just changed the connecting hose from manifold to TBs as I needed it slightly longer.
So if anyone wants the old ones cut about 48mm long by 48mm id, from blue slicone, just needs to cover postage.
Note though that my injectors sit in the manifold, so I did not spec it to carry petrol.
