Clutch on the tin top
The Baron - 20/1/11 at 05:19 PM

I have got a 04 Honda civic type r as my daily drive, which I cant fault, although lately it feels like the clutch needs adjusting, as it doesn’t feel like its fully disengaging when depressed, it doesn’t slip or any thing like than, it just feels like it needs an extra inch of travel.

For the life of me, I cant see how to adjust this dammed hydraulic thing, any one done a job like this on a civic?....

I love my old type 9 with the clutch cable

I am not sure you can adjust a hydrolic system

Maybe a bleed with new fluid would restore it ?

This may be a stupid question, but a) is there enough fluid in the reservior? and b) have you tried bleeding it?

cant see any signs of leaking, fuild is up to the lines, it may the fluid is old i guess

You cannot adjust the hydro clutch I am affraid. The system is a sealed system. If there is low on fluid you could be having a leak from the master or slave cylinder.

Most likely the clutch is worn, the plate is worn or the springs on the plate are failing.

Have a look at the clutch pedal because if it has the same system as nissans then the clutch pedal free play may need re setting
