I've been ringing a relative's mobile number and keep getting "The number you have dialed cannot accept this call"
Does anyone know what this is likely to mean? We are concerned about his welfare and haven't had any contact for some time now
Is your telephone number normally hidden when you call someone? It is possible for people to block calls from anonymous callers now, and the caller
will get a message similar to yours.
If it is normally anonymous, try setting it to display the number.
Maybe they've got no credit?
I have tried the number from my mobile and several land lines - I just get that message.
It is an 07958 number and I can't make out if it is a PAYG or contract phone.
Maybe been reported as lost or stolen???
I would think it's turned off
As for the relative go round and see if they're in...
sounds like its switched off with voicemail disabled
447958 = UK MBL T-Mobile
So as said, it's likely off/out of credit/out of service and has voicemail disabled. Or the SIM hasn't been loaded (with credit) in 6
months and the network have disabled it.

Update:
I have discovered tonight that my brother passed away in January
He was a recluse who had cut off all contact with his family - his death was announced on a Canal Boating forum (found during my Google searching)
you have u2u
Oh crap! What a way to find that out, so sorry for you and your family
My condolances
