Hi all
I am looking to invest in a security camera for the house pointing outside.
Looking for wireless just so no messing with wires.
Don't want or need anything dear. Just a nice locost option.
Also, what else is required?
Thanks
Steve

I have a Dericam H502w and that work very fine for price, a lot of fonctions too.
Hi
Aldi are selling a wireless cam at the moment, not sure on spec i think they were £50.
Wireless still need power so its not much harder to do a fully wired set up. I bought a 4 channel dvr with 2 ext cameras fot about £200 from maplin. Online access and plenty of gb storage.
Thanks. Didn't think about power to camera so a wired one probably ok.

Anyone confirm if any good?
Thanks

I got a swann kit. Something else to think on is after sales. Swann are brilliant. i spent a long time on the phone to them getting online stuff set up. DYNDNS etc. very helpfull.
The thing I would ask, having thought about it myself, is what are you fitting it for?
- Security, so you can put a 'camera fitted' sign up.
- Interest, so you can see whats going on when you not there.
- Catching criminals, so you can ID people after an incident.
All three have different considerations.

Getting suitable pictures for an ID is very difficult. I've been there, done that. Even when the tyre slasher is an aged neighbour with a known
face, all the guy needed to do was partially obscure his face (tilted flat cap) and the evidence is discarded.
What I've achieved with cameras though, is a deterrent. I currently have two Swann recorder units, 12 cameras and additional IR lighting. Two of
the cameras announce themselves, they're positioned along the easiest points of entry to the property. They're quite loud too, sets off the
local dogs when the tyre slasher makes his move at 2-3am, which is a bonus (but perhaps not for the dog owners).
