My old car for sale
Pistonheads Link 5 months after I sold it, my old car is back up for sale. They've
taken off the tuned airbox and quiet exhaust for a foam filter and noisy (but restrictive) can, added some stickers and clear indicators plus new
wheels and are selling it on.
Strangely, they now say it has a 2000 R1 engine with ported head and kent fast road cams (I had a 98 engine) plus they claim it has an escort quick
rack rather than sierra quick rack. The new wheels aren't exactly me but it has new tyres which is a good thing.
If you're interested in this car, check if it still has the 1998 engine. It used a lot of oil when I had it, though it ran beautifully. Check
if they still have the quiet straight through silencers and airbox too as they performed really well.
PS, the bloke I sold it too paid a lot less than it is now advertised for so you make be able to haggle the price down!

I like the new rims !
But you sold it for a lot less that that
I'll never understand why some cars fetch so much and some so little.

Easiest way to check the motor by the way folks will be to look below the exhaust headers and see if the AIS system or at least the elbows that go
into the block are there - distinguishes the 4XV from 5JJ. Personally, I'll bet a fiver its the original!
ETA: wheels in pictures and wheels in description do not match.

I dont beleive the change of engine, kent dont make fast road cams for the r1 engine as far as I'm aware - so doubt the rest of it is true.
Shame to lie on an advert!

They look like white Team Dynamics Pro Race 3's to me. Same as what the ad states. Unless it's been changed........

Kent do make performance cams for the R1 engine.

I think we're getting into semantics here....
Whether his 'fast road' terminology is right or not, it's hardly tantamount to lying IMO.
