When did the Indy R's price drop?
I just checked the MK site and noticed that there is a special for the Indy R Deluxe kit. Was just curious as to why? Even converting to USD
it's considerably cheaper than the alternatives I've seen here stateside.

I guess because life has probably been very tough for kit manufacturers over the last 2 years - they can't be making that much money anyway and
toy cars are considered an extravagence that people don't enjoy during recessions.
It's a case of sell things cheap or not at all - I work in construction/engineering and haven't seen a project make a decent profit for a
long time. It's been more about turning money over to keep the good staff in seats for when the work picks up again.
You just have to look at how many people have sold their complete and part built cars over the last 2 years to see the effect.

Not to be a dunce, but that was a really easy answer to my question. Maybe next time I will think a bit before I type it out.
Would it be a big deal to get one over here state side you think?
Edit: I remember seeing it about a year ago and it was like 10,000 US and now its half that. I hope things pick up!

I think they actually have a US agent - IIRC (and I might be wrong) the US version of the Indy uses a Miata donor.
I might be wrong though.

No, you are correct. I've talked to Alan a couple of times (he goes by AlanB on here) but according to the US site the miata kit is still
listed at $9k.... I would think I could get one from the UK shipped here for less than that. If I could get one that cheap my purchase date may have
moved up quite a bit...... That's why I'm so curious.

there was a post last night from an american chap who has imported an mnr vortx. i am sure chris norden would do his very very best to help you if you
were seriously interested in importing one. i think he can even arrange shipping so it may be worth a shot, unless you are not fond of the mnr

Ah but the thing is we are sole agents.....if people could buy directly there would be no point in being an agent.

I just got excited about being able to get my locost sooner than later. We'll see what time brings, I still need that extra garage space
anyway.
@ Alan: Made any more progress on Tiki?

If Alan can help with the importation paperwork it'll be worth it I would think. It can be tricky.

I can Verify the pound vs Cdn dollar (4 cents lower than US buck, was 25 cents before.). When I stared buying parts for my locost from the UK the
pound was $2.25 to the Cdn Dollar, now $1.64!

I would think that with Alan being the agent, people would be buying the kit from him, so they would not be concerned about the paperwork.
