mmmm...

the listing doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

All his engines are in superb condition?

poor photo of a rover? engine in a lotus cortina engine ad?

Spelling and grammar very poor - not a crime but just doesn't inspire confidence.

IMHO of course

As its collection only, you simply go along, and if its not as described you don't pay and neegy feedback the guy...

You lot are way too cynical sometimes...

Just coz someone has bad grammar and can't be r'sed to upload a pukka photo at the time, doesnt mean your gonna get ripped off....

253 positive feedback and a power seller...

At what point do you trust someone?

Sorry I did say bad spelling etc wasn't a crime....

No really I just meant that It should be approached with the usual degree of scepticism, how many rover 2.6 engines can be described as in superb condition?

I have dealt with too many people who have said the item is in 'excellent' or 'superb' conditon, only to find having driven 70 miles to view the thing that they have (being generous) a very different understanding of the meaning of those terms than I do.

This ebay listing smacks of exactly this attitude towards describing goods.

Ok so the guy has good feedback - but look at the other stuff he has been selling - they all have photos, so why hasn't he put a photo of this potentially quite attractive Lotus engine in? and he only sells clothes and games worth less than a tenner and none of it is remotely similar to a rather specialised engine like a Lotus twin cam.

Buyer beware

Cheers

Mark

Cynics, all of you.

He cancelled the auction and started it again with (slightly) better photos.
