Surrey Dave, your car ticks many boxes which so many car don't.
1) BRG
2) Ally scuttle with nicely curved top, not boring GRP.
3) Ally bodywork.
4) 13" Revolutions.
Lovely.
The very essence of a proper looking car.

I Agree!!
But then I would!, so many of todays sevenesque cars seem to be miles away from the original Chapman type concept, small ,lightweight, pretty lines,
but I realise that I'm deemed to be quite old (58) , but yes I'm a sucker for a BRG '7' type car!

Absolute bargain, i have known dave and the car for many years.Ive seen many scratch built 7's from the book in my travels and this is one of
the better built as well as better looking cars.

how comes that you have advertized the car for 3999,- and if somebody is interesed you dont want to sell it...talking about 4.5k..and that you dont
know about selling.....
is that fair? if you dont want to sell it, why you advertize it?
why you dropped the advert price from formerly 7k to 4k..when you want more than 4k?
oh...update: the price has changed: its now up to 4.5k!!!
very strange selling policy!!!
by the way: a nice car...but the wrong engine...and this is the major point why people have not already bought it.

7k?
Not sure who 'alfa' is , perhaps the chap who texted me to pay cash and collect the same day from Germany?
Anyway the car was never advertised for 7k ,it was originally advertised at 4.5k.
Anyone who has built one of these from scratch would probably understand it's not easy to let them go, even if like me you are using it a
ridiculously small amount.
I readvertised at £3999 and had this guy and another approach me, but the more I thought about it ,I just wasn't sure I wanted to sell at £3999,
I apologised and let the prospective viewers know but obviously someone is not happy, hence the post from 'alfa'.
I don't agree with doing one's dirty washing in public i.e on forums like this or FaceTwitter etc, but thought I had better respond with
the honest truth before anyone gets silly.
Let me make it clear no one has had any wasted time viewing the car and no deposits etc have changed hands so it seems a bit of an over reaction, when
if they had viewed the car possibly neither would have bought it.
Thankyou

sorry...so maybe my mistake...it was not 7K...but why i think to remember a price higher than 4.5k....was it advertized for 5.9k before?
anyway...changing prices within the advert time is confusing buyers rather than boosting sales.
considering a potenial buyer would now agree 4.5 with knowing that you changed the price from 4 to 4.5k.
this buyer now starts to plan the pick-up...arrange the travel, maybe from scotland to you, incl. trailer, a few days later knocking your door...how
you will guarantee that you dont again change your mind and than ask 5k?

We have hard times in the Uk and sales of anything are requiring a more intense approach to sales and marketing tecniques. This car has been for sale
for a while probably due to slow sales of this type of car and the time of year.It certainly isnt for any other reason.I noticed the price had changed
but so had the contents of the sale.If you emailed the seller and said you wanted to buy it I am sure he would honour that while you get there to
collect provided you dont mess about. You must remember buyers can be difficult, its not reserved for sellers.

i must agree...times are hard for selling kitcars...surplus the season is more or less over.
considering that you can buy a pre-lit westfield (ok..not in alloy), with a high spec x/flow engine, for 4k, the price for that Locost is
tough...especially with the engine fitted.
i know one of the guys from germany contacting the seller. he wanted to buy the car for the advertized price of 4k....he would have taken his trailer,
traveling over to UK immediately, pay cash....he would have even pad 4.5k...now the selling policy put him off to do any further efforts buying the
car. he is afraid that when he is over in UK for picking up the car that the price again increases.

4.5K
The car was originally advertised for £4500 there are no plans for an increase,
I have explained honestly the reason for my indecisiveness relating to the lower price.

I have had similar thoughts over the 5 years of ownership, our cars in general get little use and motoring costs just get higher every year. Every
year see's me thinking of selling and going as far as even putting the car on PH some years ago, the car never sold and I am now glad it
didn't. If I was to sell it, due to my circumstances I would never be able to afford one again and although it would be a quick fix cash wise
for the moment , I would always regret selling it, I sold an old Triumph many years ago against my better judgement and I never forgave myself
afterwards.
Moral of this ( if there is one) is be 150% sure you want to sell it and stick to your price and don't mess a buyer around .
Good luck with the sale

No Problem
The car and associated parts are for sale for £4500, I really wouldn't let someone drive from Germany and then refuse to sell.
I am available to facilitate the deal on Sunday 4th , Monday 5th or Tuesday 6th Nov.
But I will obviously have to be satisfied that I have received payment cleared to my bank account before the car dissappears off to Germany on a
trailer.

Sorry to hi jack the thread - but you are 100% right. Must be 150% sure. I sold my lotus elise s1 after spending thousands on it bringing it to a very
high spec - my head gasket went for a second time so I had the engine fully rebuilt with a lot more power. I got scared of the future costs and
decided to sell after spending 3.5k on the engine. Biggest mistake of my life and I have regretted it ever since. I have even gone as far as asking
the buyer to sell it back to me!!! I miss it lol!!!!

Might be worth getting a non-returnable deposit. A certain buyer has been known to turn up from Germany, take a dislike to the car and go away... then
slag the car/owner off when it is re-advertised. Their "mate" might be the same.
