ooooh! I can't believe that Aston Martin just replaced his flood locked engine without stripping it down to inspect it first.
I dread to think what a rebuild would cost, but it must be less than a replacement engine.

Don't forget its simply two Ford V6 Duratec engines engineered together. Things like rods and pistons may be common.

I don't think AM would have had a say in what happens to it - it would have had nothing to do with them and everything to do with an insurance
company.
From my experience, a new unit would be a cheaper purchase for an insurer than having an old (!) one overhauled.

As I was told it. A V6 Duratec is actually an Aston engine cut in half.

There was a fully working one on fleabay last year with a Buy it now of £1800, makes that one a bit steep.
