I saw a plate on a saab on the M1 near Leeds. I would love it for my bike or car as it spells my name and even the last letter is correct for my
surname RU55 ELB

I'm pleased that your pleased Main82000... better still that your wife and boy are pleased... but I don't get where you make the names
Jake or Donna from those reg's.
Maybe I suffer from some sort of 'plate-colour-blindness'... I just can't see the message amongst the letters and digits!
It's Evolution Baby!

a mate of mine thought his car was special just because it had a 6 digit reg (bog standard Y reg silver astra hatch)
but 5 years later I get a Y reg focus from the same garage and its got almost the same reg

Back in about '95, I got excited about the plate S1MON coming up in about '98.
Then heard it had sold for £150k - oh well!

Here in Northern Ireland we use a different sequence of plates and some of our plates can make good money from English buyers. I sold the plate of my
missus's Starlet. I believe it to be on a Range Rover somewhere around Liverpool. I got a whole £50 for XIJ 2550.
I think that plates that read easily as a name are perfectly OK but the KN03's that think that their plate reads like their name (only if you
are a blind man on a horse) need help.
A while back I was looking for a plate for my daughter for her 1st car. I was looking for H64NOO or H84NOO or H94NOO.
My reasoning for this plate for my daughter, Oonagh, was that when you look in your mirror you would know that Oonagh was behind you.
If anyone on here knows where I can get any of the above plates I am still interested.

I tried to buy F4RTS which DVLA had up for £399 but after I had given my card details, they withdrew it!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Not a chav plate, but a few years ago I saw "B1" on a grand old 1950's Bentley.
How much would that be worth!

Round the corner from us there was a Volvo 360 with the number VWA 110Y which would have made VW ALLOY. We put a bit of tape on R155 EAD round at the
bike shop and made PISS EAD
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I think the funniest/Dumbest ones are all the morons who had BMW X5'S and bought plates starting X5, I've seen more than a few of those
now on other similar cars.

The latest subject of my ire is.. H15 LTS which is attached to a rather nice Esprit currently for sale. The plate is a unique selling point as it
apparently spells 'HIS LOTUS'.
NO IT DOESN'T... IT SPELLS H15 LTS!!!!
Caps off... and breathe!!!
[Edited on 25/2/10 by scootz]
Hold on a minute, this is my car and my plate. Nearly everyone who has ever seen the car in the flesh has comented on the plate as HIS LOTUS. Of
course i know LTS doesn't spell LOTUS, LOTUS spells LOTUS but i am trying to sell the car so i'm trying to make it look as atractive as
possible to as many potential buyers as possible. Sorry you think it's nonsense but not everyone is the same as you, do you really need to rant
on about it

I'll have to keep dreaming though - I cna't even afford the projects I've already started

A whole new level of daftness
quote: The third most expensive license plate in the world was sold in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, cementing the UAE as a vanity-plate record holder.
A plate bearing solely the digit ‘7’ was sold in Abu Dhabi for 17 million dirhams, or $4.6 million, in a government auction on Saturday.
