Hi.
To be honest the best deal you will get on the 2.25 setup will be at the Autosport show in January. Being as it's the most common size used by
club racers there will be deals on them like previous years where you could save 40-50%.
The prices above are not even as low as what is payed trade for them.
Just one more thought in a race car when a fire starts there is only one concern as such ( the drivers safety ) hence the plumed in part of the system
with marshals on stand by every 2-300 yard with a larger size extinguisher at the ready.
But on a road car is it realy wise to have a plumed in system which restrict what you can and can not point the extinguisher at.
Cheers Matt

You got a point in that you can't point the plumbed in system to a specific spot, but if you have a handheld unit, and the fire is under the
bonnet, how could you even open the bonnet (which would be quite hot) to extinguish the fire?! And how about doing that with the car still moving and
with flames going to you?!
With the 4.0 ltr system you'll have 4 nozzles:
* 2 inside the engine compartment in each corner (each one covers 90º)
* 1 pointing to the fuel tank
* 1 pointing to you
Also, these systems are supposed to continue throwing the foam even if you stop the car and run for your life. How could you do that with a handheld
unit?! You must be continuing press the handle and be quite near the fire...
I wouldn't like to be near a car on fire... actually, as soon as I discover the fire all I want is be far and know that a device is working for
me extingishing that fire.
Prices:
I wish a could have a lower price for both systems.
Compared to the official prices, you are getting 39% and 38% off the retail prices.
That was the best I could get. Anyone has a better idea?! Better source?
I wish a could lower those values!
Cheers,
Joao

Unhappily, compared to Rally Design, that's true... it seems that they also have a good price...

Have you tried Rally Design for the group buy as i know they have done these for other items?
Also whats this about not being able to point nozzles in a road car? If you buy the 2.25 i think that has 2 nozzles-one for engine, one for cockpit,
or both for engine and a handheld inside (recommended). And whatevers under the bonnet extinguisher wise is going to be much better than not having
anything to subdue/quench the flames. Remember its not to save the car, but to give one enough time to escape if theres an accident and save the
driver.
Cant see why you couldnt also fit another tee piece into the 2.25 and add another nozzle?

Sorry for my "foreign" english, mate!
The idea is that you can't point & shoot. It's a fixed item, so, as procomp said, you can't just point it to the flame.
Yeap, the 2.25ltr has 2 nozzles. If you add another one, there will be less for the other 2...
That's why I'm after a 4.0 ltr one...
